ShopStyle Festival Shopping Challenge


Today's post is a competition entry made possible by ShopStyle and the lovely Natasha (Girl in the Lens) who is judging it. The challenge is to create your ultimate festival outfit that costs no more than £200. If you'd like to enter follow this link for more details on how to do so - the prize is £1000 to spend on ShopStyle (I know, holy smokes!!). The timing is perfect actually as I wanted to write a festival inspired post!

I gave this a lot of thought and finally came to the conclusion that my ultimate festival outfit has got to be a 90's grunge inspired one. It's not only a really popular trend but a cool and easy-to-pull-off one. Plus I LOVE it!  

My outfit definitely has the grunge feeling to it but it's also stylish and cute. I picked a simple yet effective floral print dress and paired it with an oversized denim jacket for that laid back, cool look (adore the rip and bleach details, fantastic jacket really) + gorgeous cut out boots which are oh-so-now. For accessories I chose classic gold ones, like the chunky gold chain and the cross earrings, a pair of round sunglasses (what's more 90s than that?), and a floral detail razor cut mint backpack (which complements really well with the dress). The illustration (by Bella Harris) definitely completes the look - love that fantastic hair, it goes so well with the outfit, so 90s, right? So, I have a few micro trends incorporated in this grunge outfit like denim, leather and floral prints. It would definitely be my ideal outfit for a festival - fun, trendy, versatile and I'd feel confident and seriously cool in it! ^^ The items I used are as follows:
